Missionary of the Month
Harry is serving as the Assistant to the Director for the Global Sign Languages Team focusing on training and strategic planning. He is also serving as a senior translation consultant and is training new consultants-in-training (both Deaf and Hearing) in Africa and the Eurasia region. Geri is currently serving as the Eurasia and Africa Regional Director.
Prayer/Praises:
- Like many countries around the world, COVID has been hitting countries in Africa hard. Please pray for healing and for vaccines, oxygen and medication to be available. Harry hopes to be able to return to Tanzania this year to work face to face with the team there.
- Harry is mentoring two sign language translation consultants in training. One man is deaf and the other man has been battling illness this past year (including COVID). Pray that both of these men will make good progress in gaining the skills and knowledge to serve as consultants. Harry is also mentoring a multilingual deaf education consultant in training. We hope she will soon be ready to be named a consultant.
- Geri is serving as the Africa Regional Director and Eurasia Regional Director. Pray that she is a blessing to translation projects, Deaf communities, organizations and partners, and the nine staff members who serve under her.
- There are many Bible translation projects that lack funding. Please pray for the resources needed so that God’s Word is accessible to more Deaf around the world.
- God does even more than we can possibly imagine. Christ Community Church gave a generous gift which was used towards paying the salaries for the Romanian Sign Language translation team. We, the translation team and partners, are thankful for the generous help that has enabled the team to continue to work on the book of Mark. Harry is currently serving as the team's translation consultant. They are working on Mark 6 right now.
- Deaf Tanzanian scripture engagement workers have been working in five regions of Tanzania, and sharing Bible passages translated for children into Tanzanian Sign Language with Deaf children. They are seeing the lives of these children changed. For most of these, this has been their first exposure to God’s Word.
- Harry’s left eye is continuing to heal after experiencing three retinal tears in March with some bleeding. We praise God for good care here in Romania.

One of the best ways to meet people, build relationships, and grow in your relationship with Christ is to serve in the local church. Here are several church and outreach opportunities at Christ Community Church.
- ONE-ON-ONE HELP FOR A SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD
We are currently looking for a one-on-one helper for a special needs child in Kidz' Church during 2nd service. If you are available to serve in this ministry, please contact Chris Taylor at 296-8501. - CHILDREN'S MINISTRY VOLUNTEERS
There are many opportunities to get involved in Children’s Ministry here at CCC. Assistants and greeters are needed in all classes at all services. Not your thing? Our behind-the-scenes servants use their gifts in media, communications, and shopping! If you would like to volunteer, please fill out our ONLINE FORM and email it back to Sherry Stern, sstern@ccctucson.org.
- JOIN OUR TECH TEAM
Do you have an interest in audio, projection, lighting, or video? Here at CCC, our technical teams add tremendous value to everything we do in our worship services, and a number of opportunities to serve are currently open in these critical roles. To find out more about how your unique gifts might match with one of these teams, please contact our pastor of Worship Arts, Ryan McLouth, rmclouth@ccctucson.org. - BECOME A COMMUNITY GROUP LEADER
Want to get plugged into a community group? How about starting a new one! Contact Pastor Brett if you're interested in becoming a leader. 296-8501
JOIN OUR CAREPORTAL TEAM!
CarePortal is an online platform that brings the needs of hurting children and families in our community to our attention. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. As needs are uncovered, social workers can submit requests through the CarePortal to have those needs met. Once submitted, those needs are communicated to our point person, who then shares the needs with our CarePortal team. Requests may be as simple as need for new clothes, a dresser, or maybe even a bunk bed. But responding to meet that need has an incredible impact in the lives of those families. Call the church office and give us your email, and you will be a part of the CCC team! For more information, contact Pastor Floyd at fmorgan@ccctucson.org or 296-8501.
