School District 622
Update from Superintendent Tucci Osorio
Dear District 622 Families,
I hope this email finds you and your families healthy and doing well. I wanted to share some information with you as we approach this upcoming winter season.
Our goal is to keep schools open for in-person learning. That said, COVID continues to be a concern in our schools and in our community. Over the past few weeks, we have had to temporarily shift certain classrooms and even entire schools to remote learning due to high numbers of positive cases.
We understand the inconvenience of having to shift learning models. For this reason, we are recommending that every family be prepared for the possibility of a classroom or entire school having to temporarily shift to remote learning.
We recently updated our COVID dashboard to give you a clearer picture of COVID rates in our schools. You can visit this link to find the updated COVID dashboard.
As we approach the winter season, we also need to prepare for the possibility of a remote e-learning day due to a weather event. In the event of a school closure due to weather, we will do our best to decide by 5:15 a.m. the morning of the weather event. All school closure announcements will be posted on our district website, social media platforms, and local television stations. Families will also receive a message from our mass notification platform.
You can review our Delays, Dismissals & Closings information in the District 622 Student & Family Handbook. Information about delayed starts and early dismissals for Preschool, Community Education, ECFE, ECSE, Adventure Connection, and Adult Basic Education can be found there.
To make sure you receive our messages, please make sure your contact information is current in our system. You can do so by visiting Campus Parent. If you need assistance with your Campus Parent account, please email email@example.com.
Finally, have you ever considered working in District 622? We have a number of vacant positions and are also in need of more substitute teachers and paraprofessionals. If you’d like to learn more, please visit our Employment Opportunities webpage.
Thank you for your continued partnership with District 622.
