Otsego High School
Weekly Newsletter (Semester I Week 8)
From the Desk of Mr. O'Shea
For our current students Homecoming, is built around our sporting events this weekend, especially the Friday night football game vs Elmwood and of course the dance on Saturday night. These traditions feature a spirit week where students dress in theme each day of the week, the school's athletic competitions, our marching band, cheerleaders, a pep rally, and the coronation of a Homecoming Queen and King. It has been a very exciting week filled with Pride and Spirit in our building. The students this year have been awesome! You should all be proud of your kids. They make this a very special place to be. #OtsegoKnights
Please remember we DO NOT HAVE SCHOOL on MONDAY.

Otsego Local Schools FAMILY NIGHT
Otsego Schools would like to announce our 1st ever “family night” on Monday, November 9th. The goal of Family Night is to encourage families to take the evening to focus on each other and spend time together as a family in whatever way works for your family.
There will be NO homework and NO assignments or tests the next day. There will also be NO athletic practices or any other extra-curricular activities on family night.
We hope you can take advantage of this night and celebrate being a family! Spending time with your family is a great investment, an investment that doesn’t take a lot of money. It just takes time and commitment. Our lives are all extremely busy and fast paced. We all need reminded from time to time how important spending quality time with your family is. Research shows that the benefits of family time on a regular basis can increase academic performance, decrease behavioral problems, decrease violence, and decreases the chances of drug abuse.
A few ideas to get you started thinking about your evening together.
Games: Play your favorite family board game or card game
Dinner: Plan a meal together and cook together
Memories: Look through old photos and family videos
Get Creative: Create an art project, crafts, or build something as a family
Get Fit: If the weather is nice, go for a long walk in a park as a family
We are also working with area businesses to offer discounts at local restaurants, movie theaters, and other family fun activities. We will provide more details on these locations later this month. We will continue to provide information on Otsego Family Night, as we get closer to the day. If at all possible, please clear your calendar on November 9th and spend time with family!
