Message From the Principal
Welcome to February!
We have just wrapped up Kindness Week and completed the Great Kindness Challenge across our campus. We have spent this past week in school learning about and engaging in various acts of kindness for one another. You can learn more about The Great Kindness Challenge by visiting this link: The Great Kindness Challenge Family Edition.
February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the rich culture and immense contributions of African Americans to our society.
We are looking forward to our Valentine's Day card exchange and service projects happening on February 10th. It is NOT required that students participate in the card exchange, however, if you choose to do so, all students in the class must be included. Names are not required on cards. (If you would like the names, your student's homeroom teacher can provide a class list of first names). NO CANDY or FOOD items can be handed out.(Pencils, trinkets, stickers, and other small non-edible things are fine).Students will also engage in our annual Valentine’s Day Service Project. Each grade level will make items that will be donated to a local senior living facility.
February 24th is Go Texan Day. You can have your student wear western attire; boots, jeans, etc.- no spurs or guns. Students will be able to participate in optional activities like inflatable stick horse races, bean bag, and other carnival type games during recess if they choose to. Thank you Metzler PTO for providing these activities.
I hope this month brings you much love!
