Tabar Talks
As we enter March and the first full week of Lent, we have a number of issues at the forefront of our world. At Corpus Christi Academy we prefer to plan, be proactive, and prepare rather than panic. Issues like School Choice, the Coronavirus, and daily school affairs can be addressed and handled easily through open lines of communication and the dissemination of accurate information. Therefore, I would like to share with you a message from Mr. Frank O’Linn, Secretary for Education and Superintendent of Schools for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
First, the Coronavirus Disease COVID-19 has risen in prominence since last week. As many schools have done already, pre-emptive communication is the best plan. Sue Biggs, of our OCE team, has compiled some useful resources you can find below. With no confirmed cases in Ohio, much of the frenzy is driven by fear in the absence of information. The better our schools can assure parents that they are tracking, planning, and relying on local health authorities, the better informed parents will be.
Not much has changed on the school choice front, except that Governor DeWine did meet with House and Senate leadership last week to encourage them to come to a resolution, and it is now March, and just about two weeks until the Ohio Primary elections March 17, so neither chamber has a session scheduled until the following week.
- Mr. Frank O’Linn, Secretary for Education and Superintendent of Schools for the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland
This edition of Tabar Talks will include information in regard to proper healthcare, procedures for sickness, and FAQ’s for the coronavirus.
