W.E.B. Du Bois or William Edward Burghardt Du Bois was born on February 23rd, 1868, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. He became so many great things such as an American Civil Rights activist, a leader, a pan - africanist, a sociologist, an educator, a historian, a writer, editor, poet, and a scholar. He also co - founded the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Niagara movement. W.E.B Du Bois also had 2 wives. Shirley Graham Du Bois and Nina Gomer Du Bois. Unfortunately, W.E.B Du Bois died on August 27, 1963, in Accra, Ghana. He lived for 95 years. W.E.B Du Bois died the day before Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I have a dream" speech.
