From the Principal's Office....
Dear Rabbit Creek Families,
It’s been yet another great couple of weeks at our school!! Hopefully you have heard from your teachers regarding student progress academically, behaviorally and socially. Please remember that you can always check Zangle/Q to keep up to date on happenings at school! I’ve added a bit of information here in our newsletter to help you access this great tool for families. If you don’t remember your Pin/Password, please give the office a call for assistance.

Data meetings are being held this Thursday and Friday to look at individual MAP and Fastbridge scores to determine WIN (What I Need) groups. Grade levels staff will meet to determine interventions and extensions to bring student growth and achievement. We look forward to teaming up for our students!
The weather has taken a change towards fall these past two weeks, which has brought out the gorgeous colors of leaves, rain and chilly temperatures. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather daily to include a light jacket. It may be time to toss a hat and light gloves into the backpack as well. It is time to put aside the shorts and tank tops unless there is a sweater worn over them. (A quick reminder-shirts/dresses need to cover the shoulder (no spaghetti straps) and dresses and shorts need to come at least half way down the thigh. These are the same at all times of year) If you’re in the building, you may want to peek into the Lost and Found-items are collecting there from the playground!
We have changed the format of our Newsletter here and the plan is to continue as it is easier for both the office staff and our PTA to combine to get information to all. I hope you like what you see!!!
Happy Fall!!!

Rabbit Creek Runners Conquer the Course at the South Anchorage Jamboree
A mere 18 hours after being drenched while running in Friday’s Jog-a-Thon, Rabbit Creek Runners showed up in mass to compete at the South Anchorage Jamboree. It was cloudy, yet the weather held and the runners enjoyed good trail conditions. Congratulations to all our runners for an amazing showing. Sixty-seven runners, grades K-6, blazed the trails at Service High. Approximately 15 teams from across Anchorage competed with nearly a hundred kids running in each race.
Many kids came to enjoy fun with their friends. Others came with the intentions of flying around the course and although rabbits can’t fly, ours came as close as possible! In the Kindergarten race, we placed 3 runners in the top 10 with Chatham Mork being our top runner in 5th place. In the 1st/2nd grade boys, Taysom Weaver took the gold with Riley Elliot placing in the top five also. In the 3rd and 4th grade girls’ race, Maeli Weaver, Meadow Bailly and Solvej Lunoe place 2nd, 4th and 6th and Ethan Elliot and Jed Mcdonald both placed in the top ten for the boys. Finally, in the 5th and 6th grade races Shayla Lee placed 3rd with Addison Bailey and Alise Elliot also placing in the top 10. Bradley Goodman and Jaxon Henrie placed 2nd and 3rd in the boys’ race and Nathan Bailly also placed in the top 10. Awesome job to all our kids!
Many thanks to our parent volunteers for helping with set up, organizing the racers, and assisting with clean up. Thanks also to our Rabbit Creek PTA for providing water and snacks for the event.
Congratulations to all our racers!
