First Quarter Report Cards Viewable Today after 4 p.m.
“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to 5th Period”
Our fall comedy will be performed October 27th and 28th at 7:00pm. Tickets must be purchased online – please use the link below. No tickets sold at the door and seating is open (no assigned rows or seats). We can’t wait to see what happened between 5th and 6th period and our theatre students are looking forward to showing you!

Next week, Oct. 24-28 is Red Ribbon Week at OMS!
Red Ribbon Week is a week where we focus on drug and alcohol prevention and making healthy choices. The theme for this year is "Celebrate Life--Live Drug Free!" The Student Council and Sources of Strength groups are helping us to promote this message through several activities next week!
Monday, Oct. 24--Red Out Spirit Day! Dress in red to show your support of making healthy choices and avoiding the dangers of drugs.
Monday-Friday, Oct. 24-28: Flex Door Decorating Contest! Flex classes will display how they "Celebrate Life" and make healthy choices by decorating their classroom doors. We will have a grade level contest, recognizing the Flex class at each grade level with the best representation of this theme!
Wednesday--Oct. 26: Flex Lesson provided by the Counselors about Red Ribbon Week.
Friday, Oct. 28--StuCo will have an activity for students to complete at lunch.

The OMS PTO would like to send a big THANK YOU everyone who was able to donate to Shine the Shield! Donations are still being accepted. Please be on the lookout for final totals and to see which grade level has won Kona Ice!
Our Knights have their last home football game this Monday, October 24th and we are in need of two concessions volunteers. Football Concessions

OMS is celebrating Veterans Day next month and we want to honor your veterans. Please send pictures of your family's veterans along with their name to oxfordmspto@gmail.com The PTO will hang them around the school during the second week of November.
8th Grade Family Parents/Guardians and #GiveMe20
8th grade students will be participating in the #GiveMe20 lesson on Friday November 11. This suicide prevention program focuses on every student creating a box of items to remind them that they are important and loved. Part of the program asks you for a note to include in your child’s box. Please read the full program description and details about the requested note.

Girls Basketball (8th grade)
Basketball practices start Monday October 24th. Interested 8th grade girls please plan to come to the gym from 3:00pm - 4:30pm and be prepared to practice. Coach Myers and Reid will have more information for families soon.

OMS Traffic Line
Please follow the OMS traffic loop entering through the south entrance, going all the way through the loop and exiting through the south entrance. There are no left turns when the light is flashing. Cars must pull all the way down the line and students must exit on the building side of the car. Cars may not drop students off on Switzer or before they are on the building side of the line.
Thank you for your help in ensuring safety for all students and staff in our parking lot!

Oxford Families Invited to Glow Show
Mark your calendars for the best glow in the dark marching band show in the area! This family friendly event occurs Sunday October 30 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm rain or shine (if it’s rains activities will be inside BVNW). Activities include costume parade, photo booth, face painting, a magician, the BVNW Drumline, and the Holwin’ Huskies marching band!

ASK Locations and Day Update
Our Academically Successful Knights (ASK) program is up and running for first semester! Students may come for homework help or a quiet place to work on assignments and projects. See the updated days and locations for ASK 1st semester.

We recognize that student safety and well-being in the online world is a shared responsibility between our schools and families, and with Securly - the district’s cloud-based filtering system - taking an active role in your child’s online safety has never been easier.

OMS Building and Office Hours
Doors open in the morning for students at 7:15am – students will be waiting outside until the doors open. Students are to proceed to the Commons/Gym and they may not go to lockers or to classrooms. Students must be in their seats in their 1st period classroom by 7:51am. When the afternoon bell rings at 3:00pm students must leave the building unless they are at a supervised after school activity or practice. Office hours are 7:15am - 3:30pm.
