Superintendent's Notes
April 8, 2022
CCPS Community:
This week we kicked off our Cecil's Principal for a Day program in partnership with the Business & Education Partnership Advisory Council (BEPAC) which will go through next week. This program allows community leaders, business partners, and elected officials to spend time with a principal at one of our schools to see and experience our schools firsthand! We have 32 participants this year and we have received very positive feedback about their experiences so far. Follow CCPS on social media for photos from each visit. Thank you to our school principals for serving as such gracious hosts!
Last week, Hannah Baker, from Rising Sun High School, was honored in Annapolis by Governor Hogan for placing second in the 2022 Governor's Healthcare Heroes Poster Competition (high school level). The theme this year was "Celebrating Maryland's Healthcare Heroes." Congratulations to Hannah on the creation of such a beautiful piece of artwork honoring our healthcare heroes. You can see her artwork and pictures of her visit to Annapolis below.
We have officially reached the fourth marking period and are in the final stretch of the school year. Our community, now more than ever, has been a critical support for our students, families, and staff, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Cecil County is truly a special place.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeffrey A. Lawson
Superintendent of Schools
