PES Principal Message
May 11, 2023
If it's going to rain, it's going to rain at arrival, dismissal and on field day! Ha! While it looks to be a soggy weekend, the forecast does appear to give us some sunshine for Field Day on Monday. I would plan on kids getting muddy as our fields likely won't have dried out just yet. They always have the MOST fun whatever the weather! Please see additional notes from Coach Hill below to be best prepared for the day.
We have a lot of fun and celebrations over the next two weeks. Please take advantage of our Fast Pass opportunities below if you plan to attend. For safety purposes, when visiting, we ask that you attend the event intended and not head to other areas of the building without notifying the front office. We are looking forward to enjoying these last few days with our students and families!
With all of the celebrations and fun comes our need for parking on campus. You may continue to use the front and back parkign lots. You may park along Stoddard Rd. - be mindful you are not blocking private drives and/or parking in the "no parking" area at the corner of Hart and Stoddard. With the addition of our new playground, the back field is no longer a parking option. Golf cards are welcome - feel free to park those in the grassy area at the front of the building or in the courtyard area near the bike rack. Carpooling is also a great idea!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Puster Proud,
Holly
Our 1st and 2nd Grade students enjoyed a fun visit from weatherman Pete Delkus and Jesse Hawila this week. Forecast: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Thank you to Puster parent, Sean Hamilton, for arranging this for us!

FIELD DAY IS COMING SOON! WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Dear Puster Parents:
It is hard to believe that our school year is nearing the end. Traditionally, Field Day is one of the highlights of the school year for students, faculty, and parents. In order to make this special day exciting and successful for our students, we truly need your support. All volunteers will need to complete a Volunteer Application by Wednesday, May 10th. You may sign up for your requested time slot at the Sign-Up Genius website using this link Fielhttps://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050c44aeac2cabfc1-puster1#/

Field Day is May 15th
Please have your child wear their grade level shirt for the outside portion of field day. Remember to send your child to school with sunscreen, a water bottle, change of clothes, hat, and towel. Several events will be water related. Students are encouraged to wear water shoes or bring dry shoes for after the event.
We are looking forward to a fun, safe and memorable field day! If you have any questions, please email me at eric_hill@lovejoyisd.net.
Thank you in advance for your support!
Coach Hill, Coach Waldrip
Thank you to the Shroff family for a wonderful breakfast treat last week! Thank you to our PTO and Puster families for spoiling our teachers. It was a wonderful week!
Thank you Puster PTO for sponsoring a food truck lunch for our teachers as part of our end of year celebration!
Attendance Updates
Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).
Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. This information can be found below:
