No Meet Week for Teacher Appreciation Week
This week we will not hold planning or PLC meetings in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week. In addition to the "No Meet" week, all faculty members are welcome to wear blue jeans the entire week.
EOG Test App Practice May 2-4
During 1st period community meeting time Tuesday-Thursday of this week we are asking all homeroom teachers to walk their scholars through the EOG Test App so they can complete the required EOG online tutorial before we start our testing sessions. Scholars will not be able to access the EOG on May 24th if they have not previously taken the testing tutorial. The tutorial should only take 15-20 minutes. More information regarding Chromebook distribution for the tutorial will be shared on Monday by Ms. Briscoe or Mr. Mervin.
SMS Team Screens Potential Team Members at CMS Career Fair
Thank you to Ms. Pierce, Ms. James-Wilson, Ms. George, Ms. McBean and Mr. Sutton for volunteering at our booth this past Saturday at the CMS Career Fair. Our team did a phenomenal job of engaging with candidates and sharing the great work that is going on throughout our campus.
Hands-on Charlotte and SMS Team-up for Campus Beautification Project
Thank you to Ms. Eldridge for organizing a successful campus beautification project with one of our community partners, Hands-on Charlotte. Thank you also to our Montessori teachers and scholars who volunteered on Saturday morning.
Recreation and Career Exposure Clubs on Friday
This Friday we will have our recreation and career exposure clubs. We will be on our club schedule and clubs will begin at 3:00. Scholars who have not earned clubs for this week will participate in character and lessons with designated staff members.
Community Meeting Focus for this week.
Our core value for the month of May is Accountability.As we come to our final full month of the year please use community meetings on Monday & Friday to establish a monthly goal for May and weekly supporting goals for each scholar. Examples may be EOG scores, progress report grades (5/17), report card grades, ISS or OSS, attendance or any other area that will help focus our scholars' efforts this month.
Weekly Spartan Sports Update
Our baseball, soccer and track teams are back in action this week. Monday, baseball and soccer teams host Kennedy Middle School. Wednesday our scholar athletes host Whitwater Middle School. On our track team visits Waddell Academy.
