Permenter Longhorn Check-In
Week of April 17 - April 21, 2023
A Note from the Principal:
Our campus honored #ShayDay while encouraging our scholars in a STAAR Pep Rally on April 14th. We are thankful for our Permenter cheerleaders as well as CHHS Cheerleaders and CHHS Step Teams for their excellent performances and time!! A special thanks to Ms. Washington (Permenter), Chef Boyd (CHHS) and Mr. Holmes (CHISD/CHHS)!! We also had a fun time wearing themed attire for our Countdown to STAAR and will continue this Monday and Tuesday.
There are only 6 weeks left of school and each of those weeks are critical. There are no "free days" or "free periods" as every moment in an instructional setting is paramount.
Our scholars in grades 6-8 will take the Reading Language Arts STAAR this Tuesday, April 18th. We need all of our bright and eager scholars present and on time with their charged Chromebooks. As such, we will be a closed campus for state testing and no visitors will be admitted.
The teachers have worked feverishly to prepare our students and now it is time to Outshine the STAAR. We know they are capable, we just need them focused and confident. Time should not be an issue as the state allows for a full day of testing if needed.
Our English teachers have prepared us for an instructional relay and each subject will deliver lessons and activities to our scholars Monday, April 17th to remove anxiety, reinforce key strategies and show that everyone is "all in" when it comes to increasing scholar achievement at Permenter.
The CHISD Board of Trustees & Administration have called for a May 2023 bond election. There are several upcoming community events that need volunteers to pass out flyers and handbills or place them on windshields etc. Please sign up to volunteer with CHISD using this form to help share information about the upcoming bond.

- Continue to be mindful that there is no on-campus supervision before 8:15 AM or after 4:45 PM. Please ensure your scholar is not on campus outside of those time frames in the best interest of their safety.
A Note from CHHS Athletics:
Dear Scholars and Parents:
We want to ensure all scholars have the opportunity to take part in all events across the district. To ensure scholars are admitted into all athletic events at Cedar Hill High School, all scholars must present a non-torn digital ticket and their current school ID at the student gate. Additionally, all elementary and middle school scholars must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entirety of the game. These scholars will enter through the general admission gate. All scholars are welcome to attend and we hope they come to support all of our Longhorn scholar athletes!
