Relational Practices Updates
Dear Cougar Family,
On the morning of Tuesday, September 26, 2018, we will have observers from NEDRP (the Relational Practices trainers) come observe our implementation of relational practices.
Based on the survey from our August faculty meeting, the two strategies that most teachers chose to implement are 60 Second Relate Breaks and 2 Minute Connects. If you would like to make sure that the observers visit your classroom and provide you feedback on these strategies, please complete this quick form.
These observers will meet with our SEL team that afternoon to discuss the observations and to plan the next steps for our ongoing training.
Thank you for all that you have done to keep RELATIONSHiPS at the center of your work! We are excited to continue this work in conjunction with NEDRP!
May you all have an incredible week connecting with our Cougars!
As always, COUGAR PRIDE!

Come sign verification of payroll in Victoria's office!
Auditors have requested this since the district does not mail out paper vouchers, this is a verification check to make sure the district is not paying people who are no longer employed with CSISD.
Cougar Qualities Morning Activity Schedule--Outstanding Leadership
Please take some time by the end of the day on Monday to review the lesson materials provided here. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Rodgers. Classes that have substitute teachers will have other CSHS teachers step in to teach this lesson.
EdCamp CSTX
What's an EdCamp?
EdCamps are free PD built around conversations instead of presentation. The sessions are created on the morning of the event by the people who attend, for the people who attend. Here's a 1 min video overview of how an EdCamp works.
Why attend EdCampCSTX?
I have attended a handful of EdCamps, and I have yet to leave disappointed. Without going on and on, here are a few of the things I really enjoy about EdCamps:
- The people you meet (and the ways it's easy to stay connected throughout the year)
- The power of conversations (as opposed to presentations) for professional learning
- The chance to learn about whatever I want from educators throughout the day (& to learn SO much throughout one day)
- The fantastic giveaways at the end of the day (i.e. great books, subscriptions to services, even conference registrations)
But won't it take up my entire Saturday?
Not this year! Our day will run from 8:00-12:30, so you won't have to give up your entire Saturday to participate in EdCampCSTX.
Can I get comp time?
Yes! CSISD employees can sign up in Eduphoria and complete the survey after the event to earn 4 hours of comp time.
More info & registration
The EdCampCSTX website is the best place to get more info. If you're already sold and want to know where to sign up, you can take care of the free registration here.
If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are looking forward to this day of learning. I hope that you can be part of EdCampCSTX!
