Welcome Principal, Dr. Valerie Littles-Butler
Dr. Butler has more than 35 years of experience as a classroom teacher and administrator. Most recently, she served as principal at Southwest High School in Minneapolis. Important Attendance Information
Welcome Back Humboldt Families!
School attendance is a key factor for keeping students on track academically. Humboldt recognizes that in order for your child to be successful in school, we'll need support from both the home and community. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she/they attend school every day, every class and on time.
School begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and dismisses at 3:00 p.m.
Parents/guardians are required to call the school Attendance Line (651-744-5533) to report your child absent or send a note with your child stating the reason for the absence.
Students needing to leave school early must provide a written note from parent/guardian with the following information, date, time needing to leave, parent/guardian telephone number, and the reason for early dismissal. Students will then be given an excuse to leave the building. If a student fails to provide a signed note from parent, a student will only be released from the building to the parent(s) and/or the authorization emergency contact person(s) that comes into the building to sign them out. Parents, PLEASE limit early pickups; students need every minute of their education to be successful in school.
Principal's Corner
Greetings Humboldt Families,
We had a great first week because our students, our staff and our families are awesome!
Thank you for a great start to the new school year. Teachers, students and support staff spent time getting to know one another and learn classroom/school procedures, routines, and expectations. With close to 1200 students’ the bus and parent drop-off and pick-up have been extremely busy, but seem to pick up speed every day. Thank you for your patience as we continue to make the necessary adjustments to ensure the best educational experience for all students.
Please remind your student(s) to be on time and to attend and remain in every class until the class period is over. If a student is leaving class or traveling during class time, hall passes are required. Each student has ONE lunch period and they must remain in the cafeteria during their lunch period.
Here is your chance to win a $50.00 gift card! Please take the time to complete the Educational Benefits form for Free and Reduce lunch(https://www.schoolcafe.com/spps). We are striving for 100% of completed forms from our families as this enables Humboldt to receive additional funding to support all students.
I look forward to having a great year as the entire Humboldt Community maintains a culture of Respect, Responsibility and Accountability.
Thank you for growing with us as we soar through the pathways of learning.
