Engaging Educators at EdCampOmaha
What happens when passionate educators get together on a Saturday to talk education? It’s an EdCamp! EdCampOmaha took place February 25, from 8:00-1:00 at Millard West High School. What is an EdCamp? EdCamps are an unconference, meaning there are no sponsors, no agenda, and no cost! Educators gather and once the session board is decided, everyone is off for a great day of learning, connecting, and conversations.
Although this is the 7th EdCampOmaha, it was a year of firsts. It was a new date, new time, a new location and new organizers. Michelle Boyce, Abby Fitzgerald, Jen Schneider, and Kathi Smith did an outstanding job organizing this event and providing educators with an energizing experience.
A number of educators from Bellevue Public Schools attended Edcamp. Not only did they attend, but many of them led sessions on topics ranging from BreakoutEDU to Gamification in the classroom. EdCamps are a great way for teachers to learn from one another, share ideas, and grow. Here is link to the Google Doc with the session topics and notes.

Hashtags Telling Our Story
One of the most powerful parts of Twitter is the hashtag! It connects people, ideas, and creates communities within Twitter. It is a unique way for our teachers and administrators to share the amazing things happening in our schools, classrooms, clubs, teams and organizations. Our district hashtag, #bpsne, continues to grow and is becoming a powerful tool that we can leverage as a district to connect all of our teachers, students, parents, and community members. We encourage you to continue sharing the great things happening in your classrooms. Here is a list of all of the Bellevue Public School educators on Twitter. Let's create the 2016-2017 Bellevue Public Schools story together!
