Characteristics Of A Civilization
Government
Mesopotamia had kings, they enforced laws and collected taxes. The kings names were Sargon the Akkadian Empire, Nebuchadnezzar the Neo-Babylonian Empire, Hammurabi the Babylonian and Assyrian Empire.
Social Structure
Social structure is like a triangle. The top level of the Mesopotamia's social structure included priests and land owners. In the middle there were merchants, craftspeople, farmers, and fishermen. And in the bottom level of the social structure are slaves.
Writing
Writing in the earlier ages included pictographs, they made the pictographs by carving a sharpened reed onto wet clay so that when it dried it was permanently engraved into the clay.
Arts
Mesopotamia used the arts a lot. People like metalworkers, musicians, and artists such as painters and sculptors used the arts.
Relgion
The people in Mesopotamia worshiped by creating temples and believed that the Ziggurats lived in them. They also worshiped by.
Technology
In Mesopotamia they made inventions. Some people who used this were potters, and architectures. The people made wheels, and arches.
Stable Food Supply
The people in Mesopotamia had to used stable food supply for everyone to get enough food to survive. They used a lot of new inventions and ways to have a healthy food supply.

Training wild animals so that humans could use them, and they would help them.

A large group with lots of people that are controlled by one or more leaders.

A man-made wall that keeps a river from flooding, or overflowing.

Writing with wedge like words.

An old temple or tower that is built in ancient Mesopotamia, and sometimes worshiped by certain people.
