What's the Buzz?!?
Welcome New Teachers!!!
Happy July!
A big part of student success is their teachers. I am excited, in this edition of What's the Buzz?!?, to introduce the newest members of our Falcon Family. We ask for your prayers as they begin this new journey with our students, and for your continued prayers for all of our teachers, aides, and support staff!

Mrs. Christina Gilbert- Preschool/Pre-K
Miss Amber Buck- 3/4 LA
My name is Amber Buck and I am excited to introduce myself as the 3rd and 4th grade Language Arts teacher this year! My passion for teaching dates back to childhood memories of reading books aloud to my 'class' of dolls and stuffed animals! I chose to pursue this passion at the University of Akron, earning my B.S. in Early Childhood Education. Over the years, I have developed a love of learning which has driven my education. It is my great hope to instill a love for learning in all of my students this year and in the years to come! I am excited to begin this new year with the faculty and families here at St. Francis De Sales!
Mr. Donnie Macko 3/4 Math
I am excited to be joining the St. Francis De Sales Community as the 3rd-4th Grade Math teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. I graduated from Walsh University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and spent last year as a 2nd grade teacher at Regina Coeli Elementary School. I am looking forward to using the skills I learned in the 2nd grade classroom to impact the students at St. Francis de Sales. I currently live in my hometown of Canal Fulton and am a proud member of St. Phillip and James Parish. I enjoy playing and coaching baseball in my free time. I am also an avid sports fan and root for the Red Sox, Buckeyes, and occasionally the Browns. I have a great love for teaching and am thrilled to become a member of the St. Francis de Sales family!
Ms. Lauren Ignazio- 7/8 LA
Mrs. Carol Frye- Spanish
¡Hola! My name is Carol Frye. After 18 years teaching Spanish at the high school level, I am very excited to begin my elementary teaching experience at St. Francis de Sales. I am a licensed K-12 Spanish teacher and will be teaching Spanish to grades 3-8 for the upcoming school year. It is my hope to develop a Spanish curriculum that allows students to SOAR to new heights in their language abilities! Specifically, I hope to build students' communication skills in Spanish, help foster an appreciation for and an interest in learning another language, and prepare students for further language study in high school. I have heard so many wonderful things about the faculty, staff, students, and families of St. Francis, and I am looking forward to being a Falcon!
