Salazar Roadrunner
Weekly Bulletin • May 30-June 3, 2016
Be the person you needed when you were younger.
Take time to laugh this week!
You are greater than any obstacle!
A Word from Dina and Anna
Here it is, the last week. So much to do and so little time.
Just want you to know that there will be some interviews this week for teachers. The Turnaround Committee will be meeting this week to interview applicants for principal.
Keep the kids engaged this week. Give them fun but challenging activities. Some wrap up activities like creating ABC books for your content, writing letters for next year's students and doing the things you never had time to do are always great last week activities. If you have board games to review content those are good, too! Also remember that many kids are eager to help you. Use them to help organize the room, go through stuff and throw out old things, organize shelves, etc. They love it!
Awards start Tuesday. Please make sure all certificates are ready and that you talk with students about behavior during the assemblies.
Remember that you will be meeting Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on your awards schedule, to split rosters. Make sure your profile cards are completed and that the comments you have are objective. If you don't recall what I mean, go back to the email I sent out. Remember, those become part of the student record and can be seen by parents.
Make sure also that profile cards are complete for students attending summer school.
Lots to do this week. Please refer to any checklists you may have about what needs to be wrapped up. I will check with JoAnne and Carmela about that too and will pass along info.
Something new this year will be the Senior Walk. Former Salazar students will walk the campus. We will have them walk past the cafeteria, down 1st and 2nd grade wing and back around grade 3 and 4. Students will line up outside the class to see these former students as they finish up their high school career back where it all started.
We will announce when they arrive so you can have student line up. Let me know if you have questions about that.
There will be Attendance and LPAC meetings. I will let you know about those.
Above all, please know that we are aware that it has been a challenging year and your hard work on behalf of the Salazar students is much appreciated!
Please check email and listen to announcements for important updates!
