About the Battle
The Battle of the Coral Sea started in May 1942, located in the Coral Sea in between Australia and New Guinea. This battle lasted about four days, and was marked the first air-sea battle in history. This battle started when the Japanese Invaded and occupied Port Moresby, in New Guinea.

The countries involved in this battle was, the United States, Australia, and japan. Australia and the Untied States were allied countries fighting together.
Generals Involved
- Japanese Admiral Shigeyoshi Inoue. He was commander of the Japanese 4th Fleet and later served as Vice-Minister of the Navy.
- American Admiral Frank J. Fletcher- was the operational commander at the pivotal Battles of Coral Sea and of Midway
