Congratulations
Worn But Not Worn Out
There is still time to clean out your closets... clothing and shoe donations will be accepted until 12/5. Don't forget this project will help our world, help our school, and help our children learn about recycling, community service and new places!
Idea: Convince your friends/relatives to recycle shoes they don't need... but no crocs, flip-flops or snow boots please.
"Starting a Colony"
On Thursday, our 4/5/6th graders participated in a program based on the Kalmyr Nickel's journey to America. In this hands-on lesson, students had to apply important economic concepts within the historical context of colonial Delaware. Deciding what to bring and who to take were only some of the intense conversations that took place as teams finalized their plans for "starting a colony."

Thanksgiving Celebrations
In our K/1 classrooms, practical life included cooking this week. “Food prep is a great practical life activity. The children learn self care as they wash their hands. They develop independence as they learn to prepare food. They improve fine motor skills as they prepare the food. They practice grace and courtesy as they offer the food to share with their friends.” - Andrea Coventry
Idea: Get your child into the kitchen over holiday break. With the right tools, they can be great mixers, cutters, bakers, and more!
