SLU CREW NEEDS A TRAILER

HELP MY TEAM CONTINUE TO GROW AND SUCCEED!

A PROGRAM ON THE RISE

Dear family and friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well! As many of you know, this is my third year rowing crew at Saint Louis University. Crew has been an incredible experience and allowed me to learn so much about team work, dedication, and perseverance. I am fortunate enough to wake up each morning and practice with people who have become some of my closest friends (though we're not always thrilled to see each other at 4:45 AM). Moreover, I am lucky enough to race and compete for the university I love.

Our team has truly come a long way in the past decade. What began as a crew of a few dedicated athletes back in 2001 has now grown into a program of almost 30 rowers. With this growth, however, come an entirely new set of obstacles and challenges. In order to keep moving forward and progress as a team, it is essential that we purchase our own trailer. Why? Because a team trailer is the only way to transport our boats and oars from our local training facility to regattas across the country. Our amount of equipment has simply grown too large for us to keep borrowing space on trailers owned by other local programs. Additionally, not owning our own trailer greatly limits the selection of races we can attend.

SLU Crew depends entirely on member dues, a small university stipend, and financial support from friends of the team to stay competitive. Please, take a moment to consider making a gift to our trailer fund. If you click the button below, you can see that we are well on our way to the final goal of $4200. Gifts can be made easily and instantly through the online site, and every gift -big or small- is sincerely appreciated by the team!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my appeal! I cannot say how lucky I feel to have such wonderfully supportive family and friends.

All the best,

Tim

About us

We practice five days a week on Creve Coeur Lake from August until November during the Fall; and from mid-March through May during the Spring. When we are not on the water, we are inside Simon Recreation Center five days a week training on rowing machines. We travel to regattas in the South and Midwest regions of the U.S., specifically to cities like Augusta, Chattanooga, Omaha, and Rockford, just to name a few. We race to win.
