WANTED: RABIES
Lyssavirus, Virus
MUG SHOT
victim under attack
Attacks
Lyssavirus attacks the central nervous system by going into the wound and traveling up the victim's nerves to the brain, which it then inflames. This can result in one of two types of Rabies, Furious or Paralytic. Paralytic usually takes a little longer to settle in, and it slowly paralyzes the victim, then causes the victim to slip into a coma, and from there the victim dies. Furious is a bit more extreme, and the inflamed brain causes all sorts of neurological issues, such as hyperactive or erratic behavior, agitation, hallucinations, and fear of water. This type of rabies is more common in animals.
Victims
If you live or travel to an area near bats or a developing country, camp a lot, are a child under fifteen, or work with wild animals, you are more likely to develop this disease. Animals that carry the disease are usually wild and frequently being exposed to them increases your chances of being bitten and getting rabies.
Crime
This fugitive(rabies) causes inflammation of the brain, which causes the brain to die, which means the victim also dies.
Hideout
This fugitive has been known to hide out in the wilderness and in animals such as dogs, cats, ferrets, bats, cows, goats, horses, rabbits, beavers, coyotes, foxes, monkeys, racoons, skunks, and woodchucks. Avoid any unfamiliar animals, especially if they are frothing at the mouth, especially friendly, seem agitated, staggering, paralyzed, or even dead. Dead animals may still carry the disease, especially if they are recently deceased.
Weapons- ways to defend yourself against this criminal
To defend yourself against this disease/criminal, get the Rabies vaccine. This is the main way to protect yourself. Other than that, report stray animals, (especially if they have any of the listed symptoms above) stay away from these animals, do not let your pets roam outside, as they could be bitten by an infected animal and then pass it on to you, and always wash wounds to prevent the disease from getting very far. Always get a doctor's attention if you are bitten by a wild animal, even if you have already done the above.
