Just a friendly reminder that students must have the proper attire in order to go outside for recess: This can include snow pants, boots, gloves, hat, etc., depending on the age of the child.
Since students will still need to rotate areas while outside, it's imperative that students be prepared with the proper attire in order to stay warm and safe while outside :)

Benjamin Being Silly!
Principal Fuller's Thoughts
Earlier this week, I was walking through one of our classrooms when I noticed a crumpled up piece of paper on the floor.
I asked the student if it was trash and if so, could I throw it away for her.
Since I never had the opportunity to life my fantasy life as a basketball player for the Indiana Hoosiers, I stepped back and pretended to shoot the paper wad in the trash...
…of course it missed...badly.
A couple of the boys let our their 'Ohhhh' and 'I bet I could beat Mr. Fuller at basketball' remarks at me (which were well deserved); however, the young girl whose paper I airmailed looked at me and said...
...it's ok Mr. Fuller, nobodies perfect.
Nobody...is...perfect.
It's so true.
We all make mistakes...every day...sometimes more than one.
Oftentimes, our innate desire to BE perfect is more harmful than, well, not actually being perfect.
Voltaire once said: Perfect is the enemy of good.
Trying to make or be perfect can actually prevent us from being happy.
Perfection is like trying to find a unicorn on Highway 30...not going to happen.
A drive and desire to do things as best we can is WONDERFUL, but thinking that our kids, our spouse, our job, our life, and who WE are needs to be perfect will only do one thing...make you feel like a failure.
Every day at UCE we strive our very best to have the best school environment for our kids...but it's never perfect. Just today, our internet froze, lagged, and then stopped.
Again, not perfect.
I love the quote by Voltaire because it reminds me to not let my idea of perfection interfere with what's really good.
Otherwise, you could spend your entire life striving for something that may never happen.
Now quick, if you hurry, I think I spotted that unicorn by Speedway ;)
