Race for Education - Thanks!
Thanks to everyone who was here last Friday for our annual Race for Education event! We want to give a special thanks to the many volunteers who helped make things run smoothly. We had over 1,000 visitors on our campus that day!
We are still tabulating figures, but are over $90,000 of our $100,000 goal we need to reach by Grandparents’ Day (Oct. 12) in order for our elementary students to give Mr. Roseman a crazy hairstyle! Who knows what this will include?!?!
Dress Down Day Rewards: We had almost 100% participation this year! All students may participate in two dress down days: October 10th, and October 15th, following the dress down day guidelines. PreK students will receive a special reward since they dress down every day.
Elementary Grandparents Day - Next Friday, October 12th - 1:00 dismissal for all students
Reservations are due Monday, October 8th. You may register by emailing shalom@shalomca.com, and list the grandparents who will be attending and the elementary student(s) they are visiting. Elementary students need to pack a fruit snack AND a lunch for each of their grandparents who will be attending. We will stagger lunches this year due to limited space in the gym. Lower elementary will eat at 11:30 and upper elementary will eat at 12:00. Grandparents who have students in both lower and upper elementary may stay in the gym between lunches as we transition students.
1:00 PM dismissal for ALL students-Friday, October 12th!! A 1:00 PM dismissal means that buses will leave Shalom shortly after 1:00.
Elementary students may go home with their grandparents at the conclusion of the activities, but middle and high school students will not be dismissed until 1:00. Elementary parents: please provide your child's classroom teacher with a note of permission if they are to go home with a grandparent. If we do not have that note, we will assume they going home as on a normal day.
After school care will not be offered on Grandparents' Day.
Volunteers are needed: We need helpers and food items. Here is the link to sign up! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4fada82aa5fa7-grandparents
