Notes from Principal Klueppel...

Good Afternoon BG Families,

Whether you have chosen to have your child participate in remote learning or in-person learning I am very excited to welcome you all to the 2020-2021 School Year here at Bell-Graham. Onsite or at your home you are all Bobcats.

Given all of the recent changes, I have been reticent to send much communication your way because I didn’t want to tell you something only to have it change. I feel confident that the information you will receive from me in the coming days will not only answer many of the questions you have related to the start of school but it shouldn’t change before the start of school.

Today’s communication will cover three important pieces of information; Meet & Greet, Remote Supply Pick Up, and Teacher Assignments.

In my next parent communication I will share our Arrival & Dismissal Procedures both in narrative form and with a map.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me directly at: amy.klueppel@d303.org.I am looking forward to having students in the building again. I have missed them all so much.

Take care,

Mrs. Klueppel

Meet & Greet for K-2 In-Person Students:

This year, in lieu of our traditional supply drop off event, each grade level will be hosting a Meet & Greet for students to come into their classroom and to meet their teacher. Unlike in years past, only students will be permitted into the building. Parents are welcome to walk their children up to the exterior classroom entrance and wait for their child. Parents and students are required to wear masks and to practice social distancing while on the BG campus.

The Meet & Greet schedule is below. Please note K-2 & STRIVE will host their Meet & Greet sessions on Monday Aug. 17, and 3rd-5th grade will host their Meet & Greet sessions later in the week. Classroom teachers will assign you to a designated time during your hour-long window. Again, this will help us to practice social distancing and to limit the number of cars in our parking lot at one time. Stay tuned for more details including dates and times for our intermediate students.

All students coming into BG for Meet & Greet must self-certify prior to entering the building

Big picture

Remote Supply Pick Up:

Remote Supply/Device Pick Up is for the following situations:

  1. You have chosen for your child to participate in remote learning for the first semester of school. Please come to BG on Tuesday Aug. 18, 12:30-2:30pm to pick up your remote learning supplies.

  2. You are new to BG and your child is in 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade and will be starting the school year remotely. You will need to come to BG on Tuesday Aug. 18, 12:30-2:30, to pick up a device for your child.

  3. You have a child going into 2nd grade who will be participating in remote learning. You will need to come to BG on Tuesday Aug. 18, 12:30-2:30, to exchange your child’s iPad and charger for a Chromebook and charger.

Remote Supply Pick Up is NOT for current BG 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who will be starting the first 5 days remotely. So long as your child has a district-issued Chromebook and charger they will have everything they need for the first 5 days of school.

Teacher Assignments

HAC will open at 8am on Friday Aug. 14, for parents to view their child’s teacher for the upcoming school year. If you have issues accessing HAC please reach out to the BG office staff and they will gladly help you.
