Livestock Exhibitors - Last YQCA Face-2-Face Training
After tomorrow, if you have not yet finished YQCA, you will need to do it on-line.
Aksarben Updates
NEW UPDATE: Feeder calf nominations no longer will require DNA for AKSARBEN. Feeder Calf nominations will only require an EID tag and an online nomination in the database.
NEW UPDATE: Animals exhibited as either breeding or market at State Fair will now be able to switch divisions at AKSARBEN.
NEW UPDATE: AKSARBEN horse nominations will require an online nomination with picture upload for their June 15 deadline.
NEW UPDATE: AKSARBEN will not be holding a Dairy Cattle, Rabbit or Broiler show in 2018.
NEW UPDATE: Animals exhibited in either 4-H or FFA at State Fair are now eligible at AKSARBEN.
4-H Fashion Show Updates
Attention Fashion Show participants! Please mark your calendars! We have changed the date this year of the Cass County public fashion show. It will be Thursday, August 9th. The fashion show will run in conjunction with the Performing Arts show, and begin at 7 pm.
Judging for the Fashion Show and clothing/sewing items will still be on the Thursday before fair, August 2nd. Please see the updated fairbook (available HERE) for further rules and details.
June 15th is an important day to remember for DEADLINES
- Identification sheets and tags/tattoos for livestock (Beef, Dairy, Swine, Sheep, Goats, Rabbits, and Horses) Identification sheets (click here) can be printed from our website. Ear tags should be purchased from the Extension Office, $2.00 each. Scrapie tags may be purchased on-line. (click here)
- YQCA certificates to the office - log on to yqcq.org to print your certificate (click here)
- DNA envelopes for State Fair and Aksarben
- Premises ID numbers
- Dogs and cats do not need ID sheets, but all dogs and cats do need up-to-date vaccination papers to present to the superintendents at the County Fair.

PASE - Premier Animal Science Event and Life Challenge
Premier Animal Science Events (PASE) is a two-day event designed to help youth learn about issues related to the animal industry, explore career opportunities that are available, compete with other teens from across the state, and have FUN! Contests include: Meats Judging, Poultry Judging, Livestock Judging, Skillathon, and Quiz Bow.
4-H’ers can also participate in the Life Challenge Events that will be taking place on campus at the same time as PASE. Opportunities include: Foods and Nutrition Challenge, Design Challenge, Entrepreneurship Investigation, and Human Development Challenge.
