AP US HISTORY, COACH REESE & COACH CORNELL
They may not have hair, but they sure do have big hearts! Coach Reese and Coach Cornell shaved their heads in response to their students' amazing AP US History scores!
"Shout out to both groups of AP kids for crushing their exams in May. A bet is a bet and like men of our word we paid up. Fingers crossed it all grows back!" ~ via Instagram @coachcornell313
"We told the students that if they reached a certain pass rate we would shave our heads. We set the pass rate pretty high. The students blew us away by meeting and far exceeding our expectations, beating the state and global means on every portion of the exam collectively." ~Patrick Cornell
"It was incredible to watch these students, many who came into the class scared to death, who struggled through the first potions of the year, persevere and rise above to get themselves college credit. The head-shaving promise didn't get them there. It was really more of the dynamics of the class makeup. I always try to build a class around the concept of "family." Where everyone supports and helps one another. And to be honest, that's really what we have at Buckhorn as a whole. A staff of teachers, whether or not they teach AP subjects, on-level, electives, or work in the cafeteria. It's like a family here. We're all just trying to do our part in whatever we do to help students succeed." ~Jamie Reese

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
