Chief Science Officers
On February 15th and 16th, the Alamo STEM Ecosystem will offer students Chief Science Officers (CFO) Training. https://chiefscienceofficers.org/
Chief Science Officers are destined to: Create a pipeline of diverse STEM leaders; increase communication and collaboration among CSOs; enrich school STEM culture and career awareness; and increase student voice in STEM conversations in the community.
We need students to participate in helping us grow STEM in their schools and this would be a great opportunity for students already interested in STEM to advocate STEM to their peers. Their participation will also help them with their resumes for scholarships as well.
Who do we need from your schools to participate? If you already have CSOs from previous years, please have them attend, otherwise:
High Schools: If two students could be selected, preferably not seniors, a male and a female, that would be great!
Middle Schools: It would be great if four students were selected to attend: two from 6th grade and two from 8th grade (male and female from each grade). No 7th grade students, please.
Training information:
- Dates: Friday, February 15th and Saturday, February 16, 2019
- Location: Northside Learning Center, 6632 Bandera Rd, Building D, Room D109
- Times: 8:00AM-5:00PM
- Breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants each day.
If you do have students that will participate, please email Dr. Rudy Reyna so that an accurate count can be compiled. (rreyna72@yahoo.com)
