JHCS Upcoming Events

December 2018

Winter is upon us!

Please send your child to school with winter clothing so they can go outside for recess. All students participate in recess daily unless:

  • it is below 20 degrees
  • actively raining (we send them out when snowing)
  • a red air day (as monitored by the State's Air Quality system)
  • we have a doctor's note excusing them from recess

Outer gear includes:

Hat (optional)

Gloves (optional)

Boots (if there is standing snow, boots are required to play on the grass area)

Coat (mandatory)

Inspirations Art Competition Due Jan 4

Dear Parents,

It is time for this year’s art contest! The Inspirations theme for the year is The World We Could Make. The art contest categories are: Visual Art, Photography, Music, Theater, Film, Literary Composition, Digital Art, Dance, and 3-D Art. The entries are due January 3, 2019. The winners will be announced at the orchestra contest January, 17. First and second place will continue on to state. The attached entry form must be filled out completely and attached to the artwork. For more information, including the category rules, visit charterinspirations.org. National Geographic Bee

The school wide National Geographic Bee will be held on Friday, Dec. 7th at 1:00 pm in the music room. Only 2 students per grade 4th - 6th grade will participate. Parents of those students are invited to attend. Your child's teacher will inform you if your child is selected through the classroom bee process.
