Thank You for attending Curriculum Night
We have had a great start to our school year. I can already feel just how quickly this year is going to move! Please try to enjoy each and every minute as these days are flying by! Make sure your children are being responsible for their tasks at school. I am trying to help them learn that they are the ones in 5th grade and they are responsible for how their day goes. Being prepared and exhibiting self control;l are two ways that can help guarantee success!!1

Parsons Re-Test Policy
All students will be given an opportunity to retake most summative assessments – regardless of their grade – however, students need to know that the assessment may be in a different format. This does not include cold reading tests and full length genre writing assessments scored with a rubric. The two grades (original and new retake grade) will be averaged together and placed in the gradebook. Parents will be notified by the teacher when the opportunity to retake a summative assessment is available. Teachers may give the same test or teachers may create an alternate assessment. Retakes may not be requested after the original and retake assessments have been sent home. Retake opportunities will be given at school during normal school hours.
You will need to print a re-take form off of the Parsons website and send it in with your child within 1 week of the grade going home. There is an example of the form in your child's Friday Folder this week. Let me know if you have any questions.
