WELCOME to Band Camp Week 1!
The week your students and directors have been waiting for has finally arrived! Looks like the weather is on our side with much more comfortable temperatures throughout the week! A lot of planning goes into making band camp a safe, successful and fun week for our students and we appreciate our directors, student leadership, and parent volunteers who make it all possible!
Please ensure that your student has a healthy breakfast before arriving and brings a large jug of water with them. Sunscreen is a must! A hat and sunglasses are suggested. This week, your student will most likely come home exhausted, but that is normal. Encourage them to keep going and remind them how their hard work will be worth it. Lots of great memories will be made and more to come throughout the marching season. Go RCG!

Please Turn in Your Health Forms!
I am still missing health forms from quite a few students. If we do not have your student's health form, we cannot treat their complaints, we don't know who to notify in an emergency and we don't know what medical conditions might need our attention (allergies, medications during the day, special considerations).
Either email them to me (chaperone@hesehsbands.com) or send them in on Monday! If you are not sure if your student turned in their health form, please email me to ask and I will check!
Health forms can be found here:

Band Camp Reminders- from your Band Camp Coordinator!
SPIRIT Week!
We hope by now you have your Spirit Week outfits ready! In case you missed it, the students dress up (completely optional) according to daily themes. Click the photo to the left to view the theme schedule.
Prizes will be awarded for for best costume! We will treat the Section winners to a Pizza party last day of camp!
CLARIFICATION ON “SNACK TIME” FOR WEEK 1:
The 4-4:45pm dinner/snack time slot is ACTUALLY a snack that we will provide! We used to do it in the mornings, now it’s at 4:00! We will give them fruit AND a cracker type of snack the 1st four days of camp. (Friday is the pizza/pool/game party...no snack that day.)
If your kiddo feels they will need more to eat, they may bring something extra.
HYDRATION!
We will refill the kids water jugs at mealtime. Water and Gatorade will be available throughout the day in the chaperone tent. Parents may bring lunch for their kids, drop off at door 18.
FUN! FUN! FUN!
There will be other fun things for the kids...games at lunch, treats at the end of the day and SPECIAL surprises during week 2 after practice!
See you at Camp!

Dine to Donate is Back!
In an effort to raise funds for the entire band (and skip making dinner for a night!), we will be setting up "Dine to Donate" events throughout the school year. While these fundraisers don't raise a huge profit individually, they will certainly add up!
We are looking for a parent volunteer that would serve as our Dine to Donate coordinator. Your responsibilities would be working with area restaurants to coordinate dine to donate events on a monthly basis. It really is an easy job that can get you more involved with the band family. For more information or to volunteer for the position, please contact Sheri Elfreich at president@hsehsbands.com.
Hope to see you at the first one next week! (see flyer below) The students will be finished with band camp at 4pm that day, and they will be hungry!
Please share our Dine to Donate with Family and Friends!
Fundraising Announcement this Week!
RCG Parent Pitch-In and Preview! We Need More Parents to SIGN-UP!
We are going to have a Parent Pitch-in and Preview Thursday, August 1st! Parents and siblings will meet in cafe A/B/C at 6pm to share a meal together. (RCG Students will be at rehearsal.) This is a great time to visit with and get to know other families. We will then go outside to watch the students perform part of their show they have learned. This is always a fun time for our students and families! You won't want to miss it!
Please click on the link below and sign-up to bring a food item needed for our pitch-in! We also need a few volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up. Thank you for helping to make this a great evening together!
AS OF THIS TIME, WE STILL NEED MORE PARENTS TO PITCH-IN TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFUL MEAL TOGETHER!

Want to Earn Money for Your Student's Band Fees? Ruoff is Offering Another Training Session!
Another way to offset your student's band fees is to work concerts at Ruoff! Several of our parents take part in this great opportunity. Pictured is guard mom, Tracy Watkins at her first Ruoff job just a few weeks ago. Tracy says, "My husband and I have been surprised at the credit we have earned towards our son's account, having only worked 3 concerts! We were told it was possible to pay most if not all of the band fees by working at Ruoff, and now we see why!"
Ruoff Home Mortgage Center will host a final orientation/ training session to work any remaining fall Ruoff concerts on Saturday, August 10th from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
Place to be determined. If you are interested, please let Teresa Bromm know by August 6th by sending her an email to ruoff@hsehsbands.com.
