iGuardians is a program sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Internet safety is a top concern of many parents. HSI recognizes the importance of education and community awareness regarding the dangers of online activity. Project iGuardians aims to counter a disturbing fact: many online predators are able to find victims online because children are not aware of how dangerous online environments can be. HSI also believes that providing children, teens, parents and teachers with information regarding the dangers of online environments and how to stay safe online can help prevent many instances of crime. This program will share important information with students on specific apps and how to protect themselves from dangerous online activity.

The program will be presented to MTCS students on Tuesday, October 25th. We are dividing our secondary students into two groups for separate presentations.

10:15-11:40 am- 9th-12th graders

12:20-1:30 pm- 7th and 8th graders

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Hurt.

Additionally, while MTCS believes this program is valuable to our students, we recognize the parents' right to decide if their child(ren) participate. If you do not want your child to participate in the iGuardians program, please email Mrs. Hurt ( and alternative arrangements can be made.
