The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting in the BISD Board Room on Monday, November 14th, 2022.

Board Commendations
The Board commended Boerne ISD students and staff, as well as celebrated district-wide honors. Below are some of the honorees.

Silver MedalistsWe congratulated the Champion Chargers Boys Water Polo Team, the 2022 UIL Class 6A State Silver Medalists! In their inaugural season, the Chargers won the District 26 Class 6A Championship with a perfect 8-0 record. They went on to win the Region 4 Class 6A championship by winning five playoff games to advance to the final four. In the State Semifinals, the Chargers defeated Richmond Foster 11-7 to advance to the championship game, where they fell to Brazoswood to earn the silver medal. Champion played against 6A schools the entire season and finished their first-ever campaign with a remarkable overall record of 16-1. | Silver Medalists Pt. 2We honored the Boerne Greyhounds Tennis Team, the 2022 UIL Class 4A State Silver Medalists! The Greyhounds won the District 28 Class 4A Championship with an undefeated record. Boerne then won the region four class 4A championship by winning five playoff matches to advance to the final four. The Greyhounds defeated Little River Academy 10-3 in the State Semifinals to advance to the championship match where they fell to Canyon Randall 10-8 to earn the silver medal. Boerne finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 20-3 and won their second state silver medal in three years. | Silver Medalists, Pt. 3We recognized the Champion Chargers Girls Cross Country Team, the 2022 UIL Class 5A State Silver Medalists! The Chargers won both the district and regional championships by dominating their opponents. At the state meet, Champion won the state silver medal for the second straight season! The Charger girls have won state medals five years in a row, earning silver in 2018, 2021, and 2022, while winning the state championship gold in 2019 and 2020. |

We congratulated the Champion Chargers Boys Water Polo Team, the 2022 UIL Class 6A State Silver Medalists!

State QualifiersWe honored the 2022 Cross Country Team State Qualifiers, Boerne Greyhound Boys and Girls, and the Champion Charger Boys! These three teams all had successful seasons to qualify for their respective state meets. The Charger Boys won the district championship and placed 2nd at the region four meet to qualify for state. At the state meet the Champion Boys finished seventh. The Greyhound Boys and Girls placed third at the district meet to advance to regionals. At the region four meet, the Boys placed second while the girls finished fourth to qualify for state where they represented Boerne High School well. | Wind EnsembleWe highlighted the Champion Chargers Wind Ensemble. The Chargers made Boerne ISD history as a national commended winner via their recording submission last spring. This is the first time a BISD band program has been recognized in this competition. Champion was invited to perform in the prestigious 2022 Western International Band Clinic in Seattle later this week. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our talented students to perform at this renowned event. State Qualifiers
We honored the 2022 Cross Country Team State Qualifiers, Boerne Greyhound Boys and Girls, and the Champion Charger Boys!
These three teams all had successful seasons to qualify for their respective state meets.
The Charger Boys won the district championship and placed 2nd at the region four meet to qualify for state. At the state meet the Champion Boys finished seventh.

Wind Ensemble

Boerne ISD Names New Chief Administrative Officer
Boerne ISD has announced that Dr. John O’Hare has been named Chief Administrative Officer. O’Hare’s appointment was approved by the Board of Trustees at their Regular Monthly meeting.
Dr. O’Hare joins Boerne ISD after spending eight years in Pflugerville ISD, most recently serving as the Executive Director of Secondary Schools. In this role, Dr. O’Hare oversees a total of 12 middle and high school campuses, as well as the Director of Athletics, and all district athletic programs.

Contractor For Elementary #8
The Bandy Constructors bid totaled $36 million dollars at $365 per square foot, which was the lowest bid of any contractor and is the best value for Boerne ISD.
Other school districts in our area recently paid over $420 per square foot to build new schools.
Elementary #8 is scheduled to open in August 2024.
Student Limelight Recipient
New SRO Equipment
The Boerne Police Foundation, the Kendall County 100 Club, 100 Women of the Hill Country, and Legacy Farmstead raised money to fund and supply Boerne ISD School Resource Officers with specialized equipment to enhance safety and security at all 12 campuses.

- Protective shields and equipment
- Tactical entrance tools
- Mass casualty trauma kits
- Specialized firearms
- Advanced training for all SROs

Chief of Safety and Security Sworn in as Police Officer
Superintendent's Report
- We are in the process of outside organizations auditing certain programs, such as Special Education. We regularly perform audits of our programs in order to improve our district.
- We will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Elementary School #8 in January 2023.
- The bid for Elementary #8 is a great value for our district. We are paying considerably less than other school districts in our area.
