Associate's Degree in Computer Science Program

The Associate’s Degree Program (ADP) is a McLean County Unit District #5 School District program that allows students to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science through Heartland Community College (HCC) while still in high school. The four-year program includes a schedule of traditional high school classes, Advanced Placement courses, HCC Dual Credit courses taken at high school, and college courses taken on the Heartland campus. Other opportunities available to students in the Associate’s Degree Program include:

  • Working with a mentor from State Farm Insurance or other local businesses to gain real world experience within the industry
  • An internship within the industry to apply knowledge & skills gained through course work
  • Participation in STEM competitions & clubs
  • Visits and field trips with industry experts to explore the field of computer science

Students interested in participating in the Associate’s Degree Program can apply during 8th grade and will begin the program as freshmen in high school. For additional information and specific details regarding a student's schedule, elective courses, program cost, and other frequently asked questions, please click here.

12th Annual Adopt-a-Family - It's better to give than to receive celebration!!

All Unit 5 schools were invited to nominate families in need this holiday season. Last year, we adopted 150 Unit 5 families providing coats, hats, gloves, outfits, toys, gift cards, and many other household items and toiletries. This year, the number in need tops even that. If you are interested in helping, please go to a signup (below), click the item you would like to purchase, label the gift (example: Snowflake Child #1) and bring the gift wrapped and labeled.

SIGN UP LINK

The drop off will be on from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at Northpoint Elementary School. Participants will drive thru and drop off gifts in the Northpoint Parking Lot. Unit 5 volunteers will be available to take your gifts into the gym.

You can also drop off gifts on Mondays-Fridays from 7:30 am–4 pm at the Unit Office, until Dec. 8.

If you would like to volunteer to deliver gifts, Saturday, December 10, starting at 8:30 am, please click here.

Help support our CJHS PTO Unraiser!!

Thank you to all our families who have donated to our PTO Unraiser! We still need your help!!

Each year, the Chiddix PTO asks all families for a financial contribution to help our PTO. 100% of the money raised will be used at Chiddix for students and teachers. A suggested donation of $25 per family will provide extra support for CJHS students and staff.

The “unraiser” provides another option for parents and guardians to financially support the CJHS PTO since this is our one and only school fundraiser!! In previous years, your contribution has helped to provide funding for additional classroom materials such as document cameras for the Math Department, Digital Projector for the IMC, laminating materials for the office, and teacher appreciation days just to name a few.

Please complete the form below or contribute online via PayPal:

Any questions, please email chiddixpto@gmail.com. Thank you for your support of the Chiddix PTO and Chiddix Jr. High!
