OES Panther Press
November 29, 2020
As we return from our week off, please review mask and social distancing expectations with your child. Most importantly, please remind your child how to properly wear their mask, (covering their nose and mouth).
Also, please remember that if your child is displaying COVID-19 related symptoms, such as: fever of 100.4 or higher, sore throat, newly uncontrolled cough, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, or a new onset of a severe headache (especially with a fever), or symptoms similar to that of a common cold, please keep your student home and contact the school.
If you have a positive case of COVID-19 in your household, please do everything you can to minimize or eliminate direct exposure between your children and the positive individual. Any student or staff who has had direct exposure to a positive case must stay home and be quarantined for 14 days from the last known date of exposure.
As the numbers of positive cases rise, together, our efforts can minimize exposure and provide for a safe environment for our students and staff. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Huge Thank You!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated to the K-Kids Food Drive. Over 800 pounds of food was donated by our generous families. This donation supported our OES families in need, as well as our local Cape Coral Caring Center.

Who’s ready to have some fun with STEM?
As part of our system’s efforts to increase STEM opportunities for all students, we would like to invite all families with students in grades K-8 to participate in a home STEM bingo game. Engaging in STEM and design thinking activities has shown to have tremendous impact in increasing students’ understanding of critical thinking, problem solving, and creative thinking.
Over the next two months, we invite you to work as a family to complete any five (or more!) challenges from the bingo cards below.
The five challenges you work on do not have to be done in a row on the card, simply choose the five your family is most interested in completing.
When you are done, please complete this Google Form with information on the challenges you completed and photos showing your family working together on these tasks. Please complete the form by Monday, January 4.
All students who complete this challenge and submit photos through the Google Form above will receive a laser engraved keepsake from the OMS Gator Garage Makerspace.
We hope you have fun as a family with this challenge. We can not wait to see all the great solutions you come up with!
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. John Omundsen via email at email@example.com
