COVID Cases
As the number of positive COVID cases grow in Perth, we are going to see an escalation in numbers here at school. Can I ask that all families be vigilant in recognising COVID symptoms and get tested (either by RAT or PCR) at the first sign of any symptoms. If there are any positive results, we ask that you let the school know as soon as possible. A positive RAT test will also need to be logged with WA Health. I again thank all in our community for your vigilance as we navigate these tricky times together.
New rules regarding close contacts and isolation for school students and critical workers were announced yesterday by the State Government. I am still waiting for communication from CEWA on exactly what that means for our community. Once I receive that communication you will be informed.
Mathematics Professional Development
On Tuesday of this week our staff were involved in an online Professional Development session on catering for different ability levels in the Mathematics Learning Area. The day was run by Ben Saulsman who is the Numeracy Consultant at Catholic Education WA. Ben will be continuing his journey with us over the course of the year and we are hoping to have him come to school to work with our staff one on one in near future.
Cricket Carnival
The Cricket Carnival for our Year 6 students complies with COVID safe guidelines and is able to take place tomorrow. These are great days which the students really look forward to. I wish them the best of luck, I’m sure they will be fantastic ambassadors for our school.
Parking and Drive-Thru Arrangements
With a number of new families to the school this year I would like to remind everyone of our parking and drive through arrangements at the front of the school as the safety of our children is of paramount importance.
Vehicles will enter via the middle driveway on Tribute St East.
P&F Meeting
There is a Zoom P&F meeting being held next Monday at 6.30pm. If you have any ideas about how we as a school community can support our students and families during these uncertain COVID times, please email Terri or Liz in reception so a link can be emailed to you. We have a relatively new P&F executive this year and I thank them very much for taking on these roles so the good work of the previous P&F’s can continue.
Best Wishes

School News
If you have a child who is due to start Kindy next year, it's time to get your enrolment forms in.
Children born between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019 are eligible to attend Kindy in 2023. We encourage parents to submit the application as early as possible so that any siblings of Queenies students are assured of a place. Places for the 2022 Kindy class filled very quickly last year so don't miss out!
If anyone you know is looking for a Kindy position for 2023, or a 3 year old Pre-Kindy for 2022 or 2023, please tell them to contact the office on 9376 8500 or fill out the application form on the school website and submit by email.
