We have some great activities occurring throughout the district. As we continue to strive to make NPPSD a great school district, it will be important to work collectively in achieving greatness. Anytime you have greatness occurring at your school, please share so we build upon each other’s strengths. Thank you for the great work!

Practices that Make Great Leaders Great
Positive leadership is the way to lead if you want to build a great team and organization. It's the stuff that makes great leaders great.
Positive Leaders Drive Positive Cultures - Leaders who drive the culture and create a culture that is strong on the inside will withstand the forces trying to sabotage it from the outside. Culture is not just one thing. It's everything. Jon Gordon

Mr. Danny McMurtry, principal Madison MS, congratulating and welcoming the Washington Elementary 5th Graders
A great school has a building principal that earns the respect of students, parents, and staff with a clear purpose, high expectations, and the knack to help others succeed. The NP principals understand the people they work with, and are motivated to create a positive attitude throughout the school. The NP principals create a sense of trust built on being an honest and caring leader

NPPSD Kids Klub
In February Community Liaison, Melanie O’Brien and Carrie Lienemann, submitted an 80+ page grant to NDE. The application included an in-depth review of our current program and our five year programming plan moving forward. The application included several letters of commitment from community partners as well.
Over 100 hours went into the writing of this federally funded grant application and the District competed against several other Nebraska after school programs.
In April, after an extensive review of each grant application by a committee formed by NDE, NPPSD received word that the NDE board chose Kids Klub as the recipient of $105,250 per year for the next five years for our four title schools, Lincoln, Buffalo, Jefferson & Washington.
This is our 4th time receiving this grant and will fund the program through our 16th-20th years of operation.
This is great news for our students and staff and the families of NPPS.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. http://www.policeweek.org

Our Project
A great school understands that many factors go into helping a child become a productive, responsible adult, and there is no way one assessment a year can measure success or failure. The NP school leaders understand what it takes for students to succeed and be prepared for the next phase of life and to help create schools to educate and prepare the students of today and tomorrow. It is our responsibility to provide the support to make this happen.
