Principal Update

Bather Seniors and Families,

Wow! I didn't realize how much I miss all of you and the rest of the students until seeing most of you today when passing out signs. I know Ms. Hixon and Ms. Martin felt exactly the same. In fact, all of our teachers were very excited when I shared the information you are receiving here. Every one of the adults you have shared your school life with here at Mount Clemens Secondary Complex misses all of you and look forward to seeing each of you soon.

Like everything since Mid-March, these plans for the end of the year will be a new experience for all of us. We have planned with social-distancing restrictions our first consideration. However, we wanted to give our Seniors the opportunity to come back home and celebrate as best as we can. All of this is certainly new and not ideal, but we will put our best effort forward to provide the best experience possible.

The Class of 2020 believed and acted like a family.

They deserve to graduate as family.

Grateful to Be a Bather,

Mr. Duncan

Principal, Secondary Complex

Senior Walk: Now is "Drive Up, Pickup, Drop Off, & Celebrate" - June 2nd - 4 PM to 6 PM

On June 2nd, from 4 to 6 PM, our Seniors will have the opportunity to drive through to the Secondary Complex to pick up cap and gowns, honor cords, and other items needed for graduation. We will also collect any school textbooks and supplies at this time. As you cruise through, you will find various familiar faces and surprises! Details to come.

Graduation - June 20th, 2020 - Noon

Given the current timeline for social-distancing restrictions, we have planned our graduation by exploring possible dates with the type of ceremony possible by keeping attendees safe. We decided that waiting with the possibility of postponement due to further restrictions or limiting attendance for a face to face event was less than ideal. Our seniors have waited long enough to celebrate and deserve to close their public school careers as soon as possible!

We have chosen Saturday, June 20th to hold our graduation ceremony beginning at noon. At this point, we have many details to attend to and will get them to you as soon as possible.

Our ceremony will be part online and part in-person. We will broadcast online pre-recorded parts before, during, and after the ceremony and live stream the rest. We will utilize our parking lots for families to park and view from the safety of their vehicles as graduates will walk, in cap and gown, alongside a vehicle when receiving their diploma, turning the tassel, and taking an official graduate photograph then returning to the vehicle to park

Soon, we will share final details and vehicle social-distancing guidelines for spectators and families.
