Reflection and Refraction
What is it?
Reflection
Reflection is used in different ways. It is often used in reflecting wireless signals against buildings and other large objects. It is very important in Communication signals. The main rule of reflection, when reflecting light, is that the angle on both sides is always the same, always. An example of reflection is the periscope. A periscope is sort of a telescope but uses mirrors to reflect light. You would usually see them on submarines.
Perisicope
This is a periscope which you usually see on submarines.
Mirror
A mirror is fundamental in the periscope being succesful
Reflection in action
The light is bouncing off the building and the mirror
Refraction
Refraction is basically light going into a solid and coming in at a different angle. The way reflection works is that when light is travelling constant speed at a medium (object) and the because it at an angle part of the light touches first. The part that touches first slows down but the other part stays the same. This means that the angle of the light changes angle. This is why the light comes out of a medium at a different angle.
