Dear VBL Families,

Dear VBL Families,

The Arizona Department of Revenue announced that taxpayers now have until May 17th to contribute to public schools! Please consider designating your tax credit to vbl. All money designated will be returned to you in either your refund or subtracted from your payment. This is a no risk designation. All funds are used to benefit student activities.

Monday is the start of our last spirit week. Monday is crazy sock and hat day!

The VBL Talent Show will be on May 20th at 1:30 pm. We are so excited to see the talents and skills of our Trailblazers.

Summer school is available this year. We will be inviting specific students to attend summer school next week. Summer school will be from 8:00-2:00 June 7th - 17th. Transportation will be available and there is no cost.

May 25, 26 and 27 will be 1/2 days with an 11:30 dismissal time in order to provide district transportation to our students on these days.

The Vail Blended Learning 8th grade promotion is scheduled for May 26th at 2:00 p.m. All 8th grade students will need to arrive at the Vail Theater of the Arts at 12:55 that day for a rehearsal before the promotion. Students are expected to dress nicely but formal attire is not required. More information will be coming. Students will need to have passing grades in all classes and appropriate citizenship grades to attend. I am excited for this year's promotion as these students have overcome many obstacles in the last year.

The last quarter is well on its way. Please check your student's grades in Powerschool each week with them to help them finish strong.

Please make sure that if anyone in your household is showing flu like symptoms that you notify the school and keep students away from campus. If anyone in your home has tested positive for COVID or has been exposed to anyone with COVID please notify our attendance clerk, Jeannie Mindziak at 879-1302, or mindziakj@vailschooldistrict.org for instructions. Following the CDC guidelines for school attendance will help keep us open, and get us through this semester.

We currently have openings for 7th grade students for the 21-22 school year. If you know anyone that may be interested please reach out.

Thank you for all of your support this year and always.

Kristin
