TDAP REMINDER

Has your 6th grade student met Tdap immunization requirement? This is required before the beginning of 7th grade. Tdap immunizations can be received through your child’s health care provider. Local pharmacies also offer the shot. If you feel your student may qualify for free immunizations through the ‘Vaccines for Children Program’, please contact Butte County Public Health for an appointment.

If your child has already received the Tdap immunization, please sent a copy of the shot record to the school. Thank you.

BUTTERFLIES FOR REMEMBRANCE

Inspired by the poem "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" written by Pavel Friedmann, a young Czech who wrote while in the Terezin Concentration Camp, students in Mrs. Hansen and Ms. Purl's English classes created a colorful butterfly to give tribute to the lives of the young people lost in the Holocaust. Each butterfly honored someone from the war that either survived or perished and special detail was given to each unique life. This was one of two culminating projects for the Tolerance Unit. Stay tuned for the Legacy Quilt Project which honors people that have left an impact on the lives of our students at Bidwell Junior High!

BIRTHDAY DROP OFFS

While it is exciting and fun to celebrate your student's birthday, remember that they cannot have balloons or flowers in their classroom during the day. The main office cannot accept drop offs of these items, either, as they are difficult to store. Please also remember not to have large food items such as pizzas or cupcakes delivered as well, as these items do not meet nutritional guidelines and cannot be shared with other students due to possible food allergies. We appreciated your understanding.
