February 9-Wyatt
February 10-Eli
February 11-William
February 12-None (early dismissal)

Reading

In Reading next week students will be learning about the -oo and ue sounds in our Pathways to Reading groups.

Fluency

Students should be able to read/sing the lyrics to I'm a Believer as well as the 100 day poem, 100 is a lot. We know that multiple reads of lyrics and poetry can help us be better readers, so these activities are infused into our daily schedule. Ask your first grader to read these for you!

100th Day S.T.E.M.

To celebrate our 100th day, 100 cardboard boxes were collected. Students predicted what could be built and voted on a blue print. Then students used their 7 Habits skills to think win-win, synergize, and begin with the end in mind while building their fort structure, complete with a tunnel, dog and cat room, beds, and boat. Class leaders led the way for our students all 19 students built our fort at once while the adults in the room stood back and watched the first grader's imagination soar!
