The noun phrase is the part of the sentence that is doing the action (verb) in the sentence.
The Verb Phrase
The verb phrase is the action that the noun is doing in the sentence.
Example
The noun phrases will be underlined, and the verb phrases will be bolded.
The dog ate his food.
Noun Phrase: The dog
Verb Phrase: ate his food.
Mrs. Norton teaches science.
Noun Phrase: Mrs. Norton
Verb Phrase: teaches science.
My mom baked the cookies.
Noun Phrase: My mom
