Warm Up to Learning
Writing: We will continue to work on our weather research projects that are inspired by the kid's weather wonders. We have been exploring our weather wonders using the eWISE (evaluate, Wonder, Investigate, Synthesis, Express) model with Ms. Allbach. For the last two weeks we explored nonfiction texts and various media sources using Discovery Education. This week we will finish up our research and begin turning that research into paragraphs. Your students are welcome to continue their research and board building (beginning in early February) at home. They should know their login information, but feel free to contact me if they forget.
Fundations: We are starting Unit 8 when we return with a focus on spelling with -ar and -or. This is a short unit. Look for a new Fundations packet in your child's homework folder on Tuesday for more information.
Math: We will continue our focus on creating bar graphs, as well as interpreting information and answering question using bar graphs.
Science: We will continue to explore our weather wonders during Daily 5 and Writer's Workshop.
Social Studies: We will be taking a look at the incredible contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
