4th Grade Newsletter
November 10th - 21st
Integrated Core
Last week, fourth graders finished their science unit by creating an animal on www.buildyourwildself.com. They wrote a descriptive paragraph about their animals adaptations explaining why those adaptations are important for the animal. We also started learning about text structures. We read different books and talked about their overall structure such as chronological, compare/contrast, cause/effect, and problem/solution.
This week, students will start a new social studies unit over civics and government. Students will be learning about what it means to be a good citizen and how they can show random acts of kindness throughout the day. We will be learning about the constitution and the branches of government, which will lead us into our campaign project where students will create an advertisement and a poster to introduce a candidate of their choice. We will continue reviewing different text structures this week for our language and reading focus.
