Resilience
Please don’t underestimate the toll that the COVID experience this year has had on us all. We all weathered this extraordinary experience over many months, staying positive, being kind and getting through. We have now been thrown back to level two, with the uncertainty of how this will play out over the coming days, weeks and months. We are ‘COVID-weary’; outwardly putting on the energetic, brave face in front of our families, workmates and friends. Underneath we are weary, and a certain amount of anxiety is bubbling beneath the surface. Digging deep is harder than it was. So again, be kind to yourself and be aware we are all feeling this in our own way. Humans are fragile and a little TLC goes a long way right now.
During these uncertain times and shifts between alert levels school and community events may have to be postponed or cancelled. This can be really disappointing and difficult for our children to understand. Can you please take the time to talk to your children about this and help them understand that their feelings are ok.

CHANGES TO AFTER SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS
COLOUR RUN POSTPONED UNTIL 11TH SEPTEMBER
This is not only a fun run, it is a colour run. So we would like everyone to dress up in white. Please remember that this does not mean everything you are wearing has to be white, just try to wear something white or alternatively some old, light coloured clothing. Sunglasses or googles would be good idea to wear if your children have them. Children will have coloured powder thrown on them while they are completing various activities. This is a fundraising event and we will be raising money to go towards care packages for the Taranaki Base Hospital, so it would be great if you could bring a gold coin or if you would like to bring something to fill up a care package, for example a blanket, toy or book etc, that would be greatly appreciated.
Bus children need to bring a change of clothes to go home in.
If children are unable to participate in this due to health reasons please contact the office by Friday morning.
Due to Alert Level 2 restrictions families will be unable to come to school to watch this event.
Thank you.
The Student and Sports Council.

Enthusiasm: Whether it is cooking, gardening, doing homework, sport or eating healthily, children will respond to their parents' enthusiasm. Parents' enthusiasm about sharing the activity with their child, is particularly valuable as the child feels valued and included.
Enjoyment: Children are quick to perceive an adult's real feelings! Parents have many duties and demands on their time but the effort of finding opportunities to really enjoy shared time with children, will be rewarded. It may only be for a short time but sharing a special exclusive time with a parent sends a very powerful message to the child.
TOKO SCHOOL SLINKS 2020
Hi there, Local Farmers,
Just a short note to inform you that Toko School will not be setting up a roster system to collect Slinks this year again. If you want to support the school by donating your slink calves we would love you to, but require you to transport them to the Slinks Trailer.
Collection days will be TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS AND SATURDAYS.
If farmers wish to drop calves off at the trailer, it will be sited 300m down Ahuroa Road on the right hand side. Please ensure that your calves are no older than 3-4 days old at time of collection and DO NOT drop after the last day of pick up.
This year the collection has started and will conclude on 22nd October.
Slinks will need to be at the trailer by 12.00 o’clock on pick up days. A Daily Casualty Calf Collection Record will be at the trailer for you to fill in.
If you have any questions, please contact Anne Marie on 0272249361
In anticipation of your support please accept our grateful thanks.
