Math
Ms. Gleason's Class ~ We have practiced multiplying 2, 3 and 4-digit numbers by 1- digit. The students learned the standard algorithm very quickly and are doing great with it. We have spent the last two days solving multi-step word problems. Next week we will be multiplying 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. Again the children will learn a few different methods and will be allowed to choose the one that works best for them. Keep studying those facts!
ELA
PAWS ~ The kids have completed four assignments and just yesterday, completed an on-demand writing task to "show off" their opinion writing skills. I am looking forward to reading all about their ideas on school uniforms.
Word Work ~ The goal is to get word work up and part of our ELA stations. The students took a spelling test for me and their grouping will depend on their individual spelling stage. Some kids know most of the "rules" and patterns and won't need that instruction, so they will focus on vocabulary. Other kids need to work on vowel patterns and rules and they will practice those skills.
