World Read Aloud Week
World Read Aloud Week is always an exciting time at Reynolds School. This year we will participate in One School, One Book starting on January 31st. This is a very exciting time to come together as a school community around reading.
Throughout the week, the children will enjoy a variety of special activities. We will talk about the book in our Community Circles, meet the author through a virtual visit, enjoy themed activities around the book and raffle off some fun prizes at the end of the week for those that participate in our optional activity.
We value reading at Reynolds School and hope that this week will inspire our children and strengthen their love of literature. A special thank you to our Co-Chairs Mrs. Cucci and Ms. Titunick and the entire committee. We are so lucky to have such a special group of teachers that went above and beyond to plan an exciting and motivational week for our school community!
HOUR OF CODE
Performing Arts & Spanish
So many wonderful activities have been taking place in the Related Arts classrooms! During Spanish, first graders began the LIFE School virtual pen pal project with our friends in Guatemala. The students created their first video message and can’t wait for their message to get to their new friends.
In Performing Arts, the kindergarten students are experiencing playing barred instruments for the first time. Their instrument ensemble consists of xylophones, metallophones, and glockenspiels. They are doing a great job!
2022-2023 Kindergarten Registration
We will begin online kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year on Monday, January 10th.
A child residing in Upper Saddle River who will be five (5) years old on or before October 1, 2022 is eligible to enter kindergarten. There are no exceptions to this date. To help facilitate your child’s registration, please follow this process:
Beginning January 10, 2020 go to the District or Reynolds website and click on Kindergarten Registration.
Complete the process, review important registration procedures, and download the required forms.
We look forward to having your child join us in the Upper Saddle River School District. In the spring we will plan to invite students and parents in for visitation and orientation. More information will follow.
Winter Reminders
Also, please use extreme caution when navigating through the parking lot in the morning and afternoon. Keeping a safe speed and being mindful of others is important to ensure that everyone arrives and leaves campus safely.
Finally, be sure that children are dressed appropriately for the cold weather. Even when the temperatures dip a bit below freezing, children go outside for recess. The fresh air and time to run help to make the afternoons more productive. Hats, gloves, and a warm coat should be standard winter apparel. Please label all items with first and last names.
