Thank you for all of your support thus far this school year. It is our hope and mission that your child's school year continues to be an enriching and rewarding experience.

As we enter the month of April, we want to thank you for sharing your children with us. If you should ever have any questions or concerns about your child's education, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Together, we are stronger! When the school and home collaborate and communicate, we are all working towards one common goal - a successful school year for your child. APRIL 8th PRESENTATION FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS!

Join us immediately after student drop off on Friday, April 8th, at 8:30 am for a 45-minute presentation entitled, Building Resilient Kids, by Mr. Jeff Veley. Parents/Guardians will receive login information for free, exclusive access to Squabbles, an online platform for parents and educators which includes videos and resources to teach valuable skills at home or in the classroom ($97 value per family!). In addition, light refreshments will be served and everyone in attendance will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. We hope you can join us!

NOTE: Please plan to arrive between 8:15 am - 8:25 am with your ID. Kindly check in with our door monitor, Ms. Vega, and she will direct you to the location of the presentation.


Mr. Jeff Veley was born to entertain and educate. His natural talent to command an audience of any age has brought him before 1 million people. He’s been honored with two international awards and recognized as a Peace Ambassador by the United Nations for his effectiveness in conflict resolution. As a social skills educator, Jeff is able to connect with kids and parents/guardians and provide the skills necessary to overcome life’s challenges.


Mr. Veley will also be presenting Youth Empowerment and Conflict Resolution Strategies to our 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students later in the day.

Active April 2022

This month we’re encouraging you to get active, get outdoors and take care of your body! Let’s reap the benefits of getting our bodies moving and breathing more deeply as a result of exercising, laughing, and singing. We don’t have to run marathons as there are simple things we can all do to take care of our bodies. For example, unplugging from technology, getting outside, and making sure we get enough sleep. Enjoy getting active in April, Glen Meadow!

Join The 21st Century Community Learning Center!

To learn more about the GMMS 21st CCLC Program, please click this button to visit our website.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) is an after-school program that provides students with academic enrichment opportunities that will offer support beyond the classroom curriculum. Students will receive homework support and a nutritional snack each day. The 21st CCLC allows students to explore STEM, Physical Fitness, and Visual and Performing Arts activities, including but not limited to Theatre, Robotics, Engineering, and Culinary Arts. Students will also have the opportunity to attend field trips within the community to work with key stakeholders of this initiative. The Farm at Glenwood Mountain has partnered with Glen Meadow Middle School’s 21st CCLC. In addition, there is a Parent University component that provides workshops for parents/guardians and also affords students the opportunity to showcase their learning activities.


The program operates Monday through Friday, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with parent/guardian pick up. The 21st Century Community Learning Center is only available to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Glen Meadow Middle School students and is at no cost to families!

Mrs. Sisto's Class Field Trip

Last month, Mrs. Sisto's class participated in community-based instruction at Laser One and Frank's Pizza. A great time was had by Kaileigh, Jayce, Michael, and Christian! Mrs. Sisto and Mt Piontkowski are looking forward to their next adventure with Mrs. Sisto's class!

Ava Dilzer Creates Renoir Masterpiece

Eighth-grade student, Ava Dilzer, has completed a six-month portrait of the Art Master Renoir, "The Theatre Box". Next week, on Friday, April 8th, this impressive piece of art will go to the National Art Honor Society Art Show at Wallkill Valley High School. Mrs. Hirkaler states, "I am so proud of her artistic academic commitment to excellence. It is not easy to copy a master, which is usually done in college." Congratulations, Ava!

Center for Prevention Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest

Congratulations to the following students for their submission in the Center for Prevention's poster contest entitled, "Everything is awesome when you're alcohol free!" The honorable mention winners, whose posters will be shared on the Center for Prevention website, are:

  • Anna King - Grade 6

Our students will be recognized at the countywide Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, April 12th at 7 pm with featured guest speaker, NJ State Senator Steve Oroho.

Center for Prevention Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest

Ladies Night Out - April 22, 2022

On Friday, April 22nd, Ladies Night Out will be held at Minerals Hotel in Vernon. This fun, yet important, annual event Raises money for the ESCA scholarship fund. The fund awards scholarships to approximately 20 graduating seniors of Vernon Township High School who will be continuing their education. For more information about this event, please click HERE.

Physical Education - 4th Marking Period

Beginning on Monday, April 11th, students will be changing for Physical Education. Gym lockers will be assigned before April 11th. Please make sure your child is prepared for PE with suitable clothing and footwear, which includes appropriate length athletic shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt/sweatshirt, socks and sneakers that tie. Thank you!

Mark your calendars! April 11th through April 14th is the Glen Meadow Middle School Book Fair! Students will have the chance to visit the Book Fair with their Language Arts classes during that week. Parents/Guardians/Caregivers will have the chance to visit the Book Fair on Tuesday, April 12th, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. We hope to see you there!
