Unified Night Lights Recap
The KHS Varsity football players, along with cheerleaders, dance team members, musicians from the band, and students with and without disabilities partnered for this event. Students will storm the field, cheer from the track, and play instruments from the pep band section in the bleachers.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR EVENT SPONSORS: Kirkwood School District Foundation, Kirkwood Pioneer Boosters, Inc., Pioneer Parents' Organization, Pioneer Bakery Cafe, Mike Duffy's, and Spirit of Discovery Park. For a full recap and more photos, please visit: kirkwoodschools.org/UNL.
Hispanic Heritage Month
In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, our 5th graders at Robinson are wrapping up a month of learning. Collectively, the students researched countries with Hispanic heritage and learned about the country's capital city, landmarks, currency, and cultural celebrations. Then, students took a deep dive to focus their learning on a specific country. Students demonstrated their knowledge with display boards and presentations. The students shared additional information about the countries, including some “fun facts” about the country they searched.
Upon researching Argentina, Harry learned, “Argentina is the most soda consuming country in the world. It also produces the most steak because it's a big farming country with lots of cattle.” Harry hopes to visit Argentina someday and see the infamous Iguazu Falls for himself “because they are beautiful.”
Eloise learned Guatemala is also known as “the land of trees because of its dense rain forests.” She also learned about economics and that “the Guatemalan dollar is valued at 13 cents in American money."
